CTE/RAP Advisory Board

Mesa landscape during sunset

SB 24-104 Career & Technical Education & Apprenticeships requires the State Apprenticeship Agency (SAA) and Colorado Career and Technical Education (Colorado CTE) to align the secondary career and technical education (CTE) system and the Registered Apprenticeship system related to infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, education, or health care. The SAA and Colorado CTE will work together to meet the following goals:

  • Build stronger connections between secondary CTE programs and Registered Apprenticeship (RAP) opportunities
  • Improve access to RAP pathways for high school students
  • Bring together education, employers, and state resources to grow Registered Apprenticeship pathways across Colorado

The CTE/RAP Advisory Board was created by the State Apprenticeship Council (SAC) to give a direct voice to employers as this work is implemented. The Advisory Board will develop occupation-specific CTE-to-RAP frameworks and tools to help shape secondary CTE programs that connect to RAPs. Once a framework is approved by the CTE/RAP Advisory Board and the SAC, it will become part of the CTE advisory board structure.

CTE/RAP Advisory Board Members

Advisory Board members consist of both secondary CTE stakeholders and apprenticeship stakeholders with expertise in their industry. The board will have several cohorts, each focusing on one industry at a time.

The advisory board’s first cohort will focus on CTE and RAP alignment for the building and construction trades.
