Revision to Standards
Sponsors of Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAPs) in Colorado are required to periodically revise their Apprenticeship Program Standards to ensure they remain aligned with the current structure and administration of their program. Regular review of these standards is essential to ensure that the documentation filed with the State Apprenticeship Agency (Apprenticeship Colorado) is accurate and up to date.
- Revisions to standards may be necessary in cases such as:
- Changes to program design
- Updates to on-the-job learning or related instruction outlines
- Adjustments to wage schedules
- Addition of related instruction providers
- Updates to minimum qualifications

- What is the process for revising Standards?
- Sponsors must submit a request to the SAA outlining the modifications or change(s) to their Standards.

- The Standards will be updated to reflect the requested changes and sent to the State Director for review and approval.
- The updated Standards will be sent to the Sponsor and State Director for signature.
- Sponsors must provide apprentices and, if applicable, employer partners with copies of the updated Standards.
- If the changes to the Standards change the terms of the program, Sponsors will need to have impacted apprentices and/or employer partners sign updated Apprenticeship Agreements and/or Employer Agreements.
