Penny Brooks is a Colorado native and has lived in Rural Colorado her whole life. She obtained a bachelor's degree in science with an emphasis in Biology and Chemistry minor. Her experience includes peer tutoring/mentoring, SI (supplemental instruction), grant operations, academic advising, recruitment, retention, and apprenticeship coordinating. Her journey in higher education began at Colorado State University-Pueblo where she supported students wanting an opportunity to excel in the S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) related fields. She later worked with numerous youth and local school districts at Pueblo Community College looking to get students college-ready and/or upskill their abilities in a trade-related occupation. She has helped expand apprenticeship for several employers on a national and state basis with a passion of building stronger communities through increased career and educational pathways.
